This weekend, the last weekend of summer, has been steamy. The weather is still quite warm, but our “steam” is rising from spending our days at Rocky Mountain STEAM Fest. STEAM in this setting is pushing the envelope from traditional STEM (science-technology-engineering-math) to include Entrepreneurship, Arts, and Making. It is a collection of out-of-the-box thinkers, tinkerers, explorers, innovators…and their thought-provoking projects. As we look out from our booth, we see participants of all ages perusing the scene, engaging and creating with everything from cardboard and Legos to wires and lasers. The word “autism” is never mentioned. Individualism is celebrated. And we feel at home.
Full STEAM ahead!
